Reading Amy Marvin

Philosophy & Tv

This lesson pairs Amy Marvin’s chapter “Weathering the Comic Storm: On Being Trans and Funny” in Feminist Making, Doing and Sensing with five episodes of the tv show Sort Of.

The lesson consists of a set of prompts and conversation-questions. Each set works on its own, bringing together dialogue from the tv episodes with key concepts from Amy’s chapter.

The portrait of Amy, seen here, was commissioned by the co-editors and created by artist Elisha Lim.
